The Long Dark - Aurora Hunt Challenge                                  BACK TO ALL CHALLENGES

You are a veteran bear hunter and you have set out to hunt the ultimate trophy in Bear hunting, Aurora Bears.  Hunting during auroras is extremely dangerous as predators are extremely aggressive during an aurora.

Rules for Aurora Hunt Challenge

1.  Difficultly Setting.

     a)  This challenge will be played in Interloper with custom settings with Aurora's set to high.

2.  Spawning.

    a)  Once you spawn you must make your way to the Trappers "Bear Hunting" Homestead in Mystery Lake.

    b)  Loot what you can but you must get to the Trappers "Bear Hunting" Homestead by day 5.

    c)  Once you arrive at the Trappers "Bear Hunting" Homestead you may continue to loot wherever you wish, however you must make a forge run soon.

3.  Forge Run.

    a)  You must be at a forge by day 15.

    b)  You may forge at any location you choose.

4.  After the Forge Run.

      a)  After your forge run you must head back to the Trappers "Bear Hunting" Homestead to start crafting your Bow and Arrows.

5.  Crafted Clothing.

    a)  All crafted clothing items, bows, and arrows must be made at the Trappers "Bear Hunting" Homestead.

6.  Hunting Aurora Bears.

   a)  There are several Aurora Bears in Mystery Lake.  You need to hunt two Aurora Bears in Mystery Lake.  After you have successfully hunted two Aurora Bears you will need to craft the Bearskin coat at the Trappers "Bear Hunting" Homestead.  After the Bearskin coat has been crafted you must wear the coat at all times.  Once the Bearskin coat has been completed, you have been told there are two more Aurora Bears in two more regions.  One is in Coastal Highway and the other is in Broken Railroad.

**Note:  All Aurora Bears must be hunted with the bow.  You may not use the flare gun on the Bear.  You may however have the flare gun in your possession to protect you from Aurora Wolves.

Once you have acquired the hides in Coastal Highway and Broken Railroad you need to bring the two Bear hides back to the Trappers "Bear Hunting" Homestead.  Once this has been done you have completed the challenge.
